MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -The victim of an unprovoked and targeted attack outside of camp Randall stadium September 20, died in the hospital late last week.

Now, suspect Keith Jones is facing charges of first-degree intentional homicide. He was initially facing charges of aggravated battery, robbery and violating his probation.

“The circumstances have obviously changed with the death of the victim,” said UW-Madison Police Department Chief Brent Plisch. “In this case the assistant district attorney or deputy district attorney reviewing the case believes that first degree intentional homicide is an appropriate charge.”

While Jones makes his way through the justice system, students at UW-Madison said they are shocked to learn more about the incident.
