CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Republican and Democratic Congressional leaders met privately with President Donald Trump, but no deal was made to keep the federal government open.

There was little movement on Monday between the two sides in negotiations to prevent the shutdown. Now, federal funding is to run out by the end of the day Tuesday unless President Trump and leaders can reach an agreement.

Republicans have faced a list of requests from democrats for weeks in exchange for their votes to keep the government open. A major focus for democrats was addressing a rollback of medicaid cuts and extending subsidies that limit the cost of health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, which are set to expire by the end of the year.
