WASHINGTON – Residents living in areas where bears wander are reminded to promptly pick up deliveries from services such as DoorDash and Uber Eats to avoid attracting unexpected visitors.
A black bear was recently captured on video in Ocean Shores walking off a porch with a package in its mouth, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife
Black bears are common across Washington, including suburban areas. They seek high-calorie food sources, especially during hibernation preparation and after waking in spring.
WDFW advises removing potential attractants to encourage bears to move on and focus on natural food sources.
