New Jersey residents should brace for a cooler-than-normal October with scattered rain showers, according to seasonal forecasts from the Old Farmer’s Almanac and AccuWeather.
The Almanac projects the state’s average temperature to hover around 55 degrees, roughly 2 degrees below the seasonal norm. Precipitation is expected to reach about 4 inches, in line with historical averages. The outlook calls for scattered showers at the beginning and end of the month, stretches of sun in mid-October, and bouts of heavy rain later in the month.
AccuWeather meteorologists anticipate a wider range of temperatures. The month’s lowest reading could dip to 41 degrees, while the highest may climb to 76. Rain is likely on Oct. 9, 21 and 22, the forecast said. No measurable snow is expected in October.
