As steady, light rain falls across North Carolina on Tuesday morning, Tropical Storm Imelda will begin pulling away from the East Coast.

Imelda, which never made landfall in the U.S., brought waves of rain to the state on Monday. The Tuesday morning commute will stay wet, with the rain becoming more scattered in the afternoon. Damaging winds, flooding and power outages are not a concern with this storm, although the coast will experience rough surf and rip currents for the remainder of the week.
