Hurricane Imelda formed in the Atlantic on Tuesday, according to the National Hurricane Center.
At 11 a.m. Tuesday, Imelda was moving northeast at 7 mph and was located approximately 160 miles east of Florida, near the Bahamas.
The center of the system is expected to move away from the Bahamas today and quickly approach Bermuda late on Wednesday.
Maximum sustained winds: 80 mph
Minimum central pressure: 980 mb
Imelda will continue to strengthen over the next few days, according to the NHC.
