Storm Amy, the first named storm of the season, is yet to materialise, but weather experts are warning the aftermath of Hurricane Humberto could be "a big one".

Currently traversing the Atlantic, the powerful Category 3 hurricane topped out with 115mph winds, and it is on course for the British Isles.

While weather experts expect it to be downgraded to post-tropical before the end of the week, it could still lead to "unsettled" weather, according to the Met Office.

In a conversation with the Mirror , a weather expert warned that the remnants of this hurricane could lead to the first named storm of the season.

He said: "Storm Amy looks destined to unfold off the ashes of Humberto on Friday or Saturday, if it all goes to plan. There will be lots of wind and rain.
