CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (PIX11) – An MTA worker was slashed inside a tunnel at a Brooklyn subway station late Monday night, according to the NYPD.
Police said it happened at the Crown Heights subway station at Nostrand Avenue and Eastern Parkway around 10:40 p.m. The 64-year-old employee was in the tunnel working on the power for the No. 3 train when he was approached by another man, according to authorities.
Police said the worker told the man that he could not be in the tunnel, which is when a fight broke out. The suspect slashed the worker in the neck with some sort of knife, according to authorities.
Police said the suspect, wearing a black and white t-shirt, fled into the tunnel. The worker was taken to a local hospital, where he’s recovering, according to authorities.
