LIPSCOMB, Ala. —

A new mayor will guide the future of the city of Lipscomb. Robin Sims won a very close mayoral runoff race last week.

He got just 14 votes more than Lakendria Poellnitz. She was a city council member, and Sims had been working as a police officer.

You may remember his story; we told you about him last month when Sims was fighting theft and trespassing charges . He says he was charged with theft because he didn't turn in his badge and identification after asking to be moved to unpaid reserve status with the police department. That was a request Sims made because he was running for mayor.
