WASHINGTON — Two crashes are causing major delays and during the morning commute. Here's what to know before you head out the door:

I-495 and Clara Barton Parkway

A multi-vehicle on I-495 heading southbound on the outer loop past the Clara Barton Parkway (Exit 41) has one left lane blocked. Drivers are using three right lanes to get by. Delays are expected to begin before the I-270 Interchange.

Police have reported an injury but have not yet said how many were injured. They have also not reported the cause of the crash.

VA-28 & Sterling Blvd

As of 7 a.m., Sterling Blvd and northbound at Sully Rd are now open.

At around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, a multi-vehicle crash heading northbound on VA-28 at Sterling Blvd in Loudon County blocked all lanes. Authorities have not yet reported any injurie
