An investigation is underway after one person was seriously injured in an afternoon shooting in Tuscaloosa.
The shooting happened about 1 p.m. at the University of Alabama Arboretum, a 60-acre arboretum about six miles from UA’s main campus.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, and the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is leading the probe.
TCVU Capt. Jack Kennedy said one person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
UA released a statement that said the incident did not involve anyone from the university and there was no threat to the campus community.
