ALLEN PARK — The hamstring injury suffered by Detroit Lions cornerback D.J. Reed at Ford Field on Sunday might require a stint on injured reserve, but it is not considered season-ending, according to Lions coach Dan Campbell, who also issued a positive update on defensive tackle Alim McNeill on Monday.

McNeill, who was placed on injured reserve with a season-ending knee injury last December , could have his acclimation window opened this week, meaning he’d be a maximum of three weeks away from being able to return to the field.

McNeill is an integral piece of Detroit’s interior pass rush. He provided 3½ sacks and 45 pressures in 14 games last season. The injury occurred just a month and a half after McNeill inked a four-year, $97 million contract extension with $55 million guara
