A man was killed late Monday after being struck by a semi-truck, according to the Pima County Sheriffs Department.

The crash happened just after 9:45 p.m. when the semi-truck hit the pedestrian. PCSD said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured and stayed on site during the investigation.

The roadway was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
