TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Pima County.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened Monday night, September 29, at the intersection of North Thornydale Road and West Turkey Lane.

The PCSD says an off-duty Arizona Department of Public Safety Trooper witnessed the crash, called 911 and remained at the scene.

Deputies arrived and found a semi-truck parked on the side of the road.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle remained at the scene and were uninjured.

Deputies searched the area and found the pedestrian, who was later identified as 28-year-old Jordan Caleb Estes.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The PCSD Traffic Unit determined that neither speed nor impairment were factors in the crash.
