BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Union Avenue two weeks ago.

Alvino Ray Arambulo, 48, was a pedestrian walking outside of a crosswalk north of the intersection of Bernard Street and Union Avenue in Bakersfield at 10:20 p.m. Sept. 15 when he was struck by a vehicle, according to officials.

While Arambulo was still down in the roadway, a second vehicle struck him, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

Arambulo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The first driver who struck Arambulo remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation and had no signs of impairment, police said. Speed also didn’t appear to be a factor in the crash.
