BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Early detection saves lives, and no one should avoid or delay breast and cervical cancer screening because they don’t have health insurance,” wrote the Bryan County Health Department in a press release.

During this month, the Bryan County Health Department is hosting two free breast and cervical cancer screening events aimed to connect women with life-saving services and raise awareness.

The first event is scheduled on October 21 in Richmond Hill. The event will start at 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. and will close for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

The by appointment event will be located at the clinic at 66 Captain Matthew Freeman Drive.

The second event is scheduled on October 29 in Pembrok
