SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah’s Mayor Van Johnson responded to Civic Center ice rink concerns in his weekly press conference Tuesday.

Last week, we reported on the cancelation of recreational Savannah hockey for both the youth and adult leagues for the time being.
The cancelation stemmed from the fact that Zawyer Sports , the one who runs it at the Civic Center, couldn’t come up with an agreement with the city to rent it out in it’s final year before it gets demoed.

This comes after the Savannah City Council voted to demolish the MLK Jr. Arena and renovate Johnny Mercer Theater at the Civic Center last year.
