One person was killed and another was injured in a house explosion in Dagsboro the morning of Sept. 30, according to fire officials.

The Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched at 7:06 a.m. to the 25000 block of Gum Tree Road for a house explosion with possible entrapment, according to a news release from the fire company.

One person was rescued while it was reported that another person was trapped inside the house, according to the fire company.

Matthew Gajdos, of the Frankford Fire Company, said a person was found dead at the scene after a search.

The injured person who was initially rescued was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
