The UK Foreign Office has issued a warning to travellers in France ahead of strike action planned for Thursday, October 2.
Unions have called for a nationwide strike to put pressure on the new Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu to scrap his predecessor's austerity fiscal programme, France 24 reports.
Protests were previously held on September 18, but unions are now calling for further action. Lecronu was only appointed just over two weeks ago and is yet to organise a government or draft budget.
The strike action was announced on Wednesday after union leaders met. Regarding the meeting, Sophie Binet, of the CGT union, said "There was a big turnout on September 18, and we need to step it up again on October 2."
