Park district plans Halloween-themed events in October

The Naperville Park District has several events planned to get the community into the Halloween spirit.

Educational activities for families are available at Knoch Knoll Nature Center as part of its annual Creepy Critters Month throughout October. Drop-in hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays at the center, 320 Knoch Knolls Road.

Self-guided activities about fungus, slime, spiders, bats and more will be available. Families can participate in an indoor scavenger hunt to earn a Halloween-themed prize. No advance registration is required.

Summer Place Theatre storytellers will be sharing bone-chilling stories in the annual “Ghost Stories in the Park … in the Dark” event at 7 p.m. Frida
