ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland (KSNW) -- Actor Josh Hartnett is recovering following a crash in Canada.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating the crash that injured Hartnett and also involved an officer and one of their police vehicles. The RNC says Hartnett was a passenger in an SUV driven by an unidentified 59-year-old man when their SUV collided with a patrol vehicle at the intersection of New Cove Road and Elizabeth Avenue.

Hartnett and the driver suffered minor injuries. The police officer was transported to the hospital as a precaution, but he was not seriously hurt.

Hartnett was in Canada filming an as-yet-untitled series for Netflix with Charlie Heaton, best known for co-starring in one of Netflix's most popular series, "Stranger Things." It also stars "Speak No Evil's"
