A huge 6. 9 magnitude earthquake has rocked Leyte in the Philippines.
Locals have been issued with a major warning after the large tremor struck the islands in Asia, with residents living near the shoreline urged to move inland immediately.
The earthquake is believed to have erupted at around 10 pm local time. It is said to have occured underwater.
As the Mirror reports, there are fears that the quake could cause a localised tsunami.
Very strong shaking from the earthquake could bring "considerable damage in poorly built or badly designed structures," the US Geological Survey have warned.
It added there could be "slight to moderate damage in well-built ordinary structures."
