MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Three teenagers have been charged after sharing a social media threat on Monday, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

The SCSO said that three teens were charged with Threats of Mass Violence on School Property/ at a school-related activity in connection with social media posts.

They said the posts included a photo of multiple weapons and handguns on the floor with a text threat made to public schools in the image.

Deputies said they were made aware of the post on Sunday and began to investigate to identify the teens responsible.

The sheriff's office said they identified the teens as a 15-year-old high school student, and two 13-year-olds from different middle schools.
