For years, the English Rose in San Carlos, an old-fashioned tea house, was where single mom and executive assistant Angela Pierucci took her two children to celebrate birthdays. Then, in 2012, the shop closed without warning.

The emptiness she felt after learning about its closure turned into a dream to someday open her own tea shop, which stayed in the back of her mind, she says. “It really did start with that little family tradition.”

Then, in January 2023, the name By the Teashore suddenly popped into her mind. She recalls taking the moment of clarity as a sign to move forward with her dream, she says.
