PENNSYLVANIA, USA — The warmest day of the month was on Thursday, September 18. It was 84 degrees in the Scranton area that day and a record-breaking 89 degrees in Williamsport. On the morning of Monday, September 8, it was 43 degrees in both Northeastern and Central PA. That was the coldest temperature recorded this month.

In Williamsport, it hit 80 degrees or warmer 19 times this month. 2025 now ties for 3rd place for the most number of 80-degree days during the month of September. In 1921, it happened 21 times, and in 1930, it happened 22 times.
