MOORHEAD — Moorhead police have arrested a juvenile related to a disturbance and a loaded firearm.

Just before 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, officers made contact with a 17-year-old juvenile in the 2800 block of 34th Street South in Moorhead, a department news release said.

The juvenile was reportedly identified as having been involved in a disturbance earlier Monday at the Moorhead High School Career Academy and had left the building.

Officers detained the juvenile for questioning, and while reviewing traffic camera footage and conducting a search of the area, found a loaded handgun in close proximity to the juvenile, the release said.

The juvenile was arrested and taken to the West Central Regional Juvenile Center.

The person is being held on a felony charge of possession of a firearm
