With summer in the rear-view mirror, U.S. residents may start to wonder what the coming winter will look like.
According to meteorologist Chris Tomer’s winter forecast for OnTheSnow.com , those in the northern tier of states should expect some enhanced snowfall.
The Pacific Northwest is favored for the most consistent precipitation in October and November, while the Sierra is favored in December. The winter months that follow are forecast to favor the Northern Tier.

Tomer also foresees a La Niña emergence this fall before El Niño-Southern Oscillation-neutral conditions return in the winter months of 2026.
