SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- A Sioux Falls man has been convicted on counts of rape, burglary, assault and false imprisonment.

According to a press release from the Minnehaha County State's Attorney's office, on Monday, , Kevin Dewayne Bass was found guilty on charges of Rape in the Second Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, Rape in the Fourth Degree, Simple Assault and False Imprisonment.

During the four-day jury trial, it was proven that in the early morning hours of June 30, 2024, Bass forced his ex-girlfriend into her own home before assaulting and raping her, according to a news release.

The victim was able to call her father during the assault, which led to police involvement and Bass's arrest.
