FOREST PARK — The Forest Park Fire and Emergency Services Department is turning up the heat by hosting its third annual Girls' Firefighter Camp Believe for Clayton County girls ages 12 to 17.


Launched by Forest Park Interim City Manager and Fire Chief Latosha Clemons, the free three-day fire camp showcases the ins and outs of what it takes to become a certified firefighter and paramedic.

Topics covered include the following:

— Fire service history.

— Fire behavior.

— Fire extinguishers.

— CPR.

— Physical fitness.

— First aid.

— Teamwork.

The camp is scheduled Oct. 14 and 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Oct. 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Gillem Public Safety Building, 2090 Anvil Block Road.
