SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - South Sioux City Police Chief Ed Mahon is preparing for his next career milestone: retirement.
He’s spent 42 years with the police department in South Sioux City, Nebraska, the last 9-1/2 years as police chief. On Friday, Oct. 24, he’s putting on the uniform for the last time.
Chief Mahon credits his team of officers for making his last decade in law enforcement easy.
“It’s been very kind of simple. I hate to say it. I like to say it’s very difficult, but it’s been simple. The officers are great,” he told KTIV. “You deal with the public like you want to be dealt with. And boy, the officers, they do that.”
