WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KRON) -- The highly anticipated return of Original Joe's in Walnut Creek is here. The popular Italian-American restaurant is set to reopen this Wednesday on Oct. 1, it was announced in a press release.

Original Joe's in Walnut Creek held its grand opening on Aug. 14 but was forced to shut down days later because of what the restaurant described as a "minor kitchen fire." About a month and a half later, Original Joe's has fully recovered and is ready to fill its 300-seat restaurant.

The fire happened inside the restaurant's kitchen overnight on Monday, Aug. 18. There were no injuries, according to Original Joe's.
