CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — One of the biggest annual volunteer events in Centre County is making a return.
United Way Day of Caring is celebrating 31 years. Nonprofits are able to submit proposals for projects they need help with. The projects vary from repaving a driveway to renovating the roof of a house. Hundreds of volunteers then go out into the community to help complete the work.
"One of the things we've been emphasizing from the county level is the need for more volunteers to join all of these different nonprofits throughout the county," Commissioner Amber Concepcion said.
This year's date is Thursday, Oct. 9. To sign up to volunteer, visit the Day of Caring's website.
