HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Workers at the Huntington Railroad Museum are prepping the former Chesapeake & Ohio Railway steam locomotive--#1308.

The Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society has donated the locomotive to the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum in Sugarcreek, Ohio.

Nathan Vance is the executive director of the Roundhouse Museum.

He said the 1308 has been displayed outdoors in Huntington since 1962.

“With things today and the group getting older and not having as many members as they used to have--they felt that it was time they pass it on to somebody else to take care of,” Vance said. “We talked with them, and they decided it was time to let it go and they donated it to us.

It has been repainted, but rusting has affected the interior.
