SOLON, Ohio — No charges will be filed after a 4-year-old boy slipped out of a Solon day care center Sunday morning and was found by a stranger walking near the street, a police spokesperson confirmed to 3News.

Lt. Bill Vajdich told 3News the city's prosecutor reviewed the case and declined to file criminal charges. The Solon Police Department contacted other agencies, including the Cuyahoga County Division of Child and Family Services and Ohio Department of Children and Youth, for "follow-up," Vajdich said.

What happened

Indyia McWhorter says she dropped off her son, Nova-Haleem, at the Higher Achievement Center on Station Street in Solon just before 11 a.m. before heading to her job less than a half-mile away.

"That's my only child. That's literally all I got right now," McWhorter
