BERLIN, Conn. — The junior golf team from the Timberlin Golf Course in Berlin has advanced to the national championship at PGA Headquarters in Frisco, Texas in November.

They qualified for the national competition after they won at the PGA Junior League championship at Keney Golf Club in Hartford.

“This is pretty much golf’s equivalent to the Little League World Series, we are representing District 1 out of New England which is New York and all of New England and Connecticut combined," said Marc Bayram, the head pro at Timberlin Golf Club, who also serves as the kids' coach.

Team Timby, which can now call itself “Team Connecticut,” is made up of six boys and two girls, all ages 13 and under.
