The Des Moines School Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, for its fourth special meeting since the arrest of Superintendent Ian Roberts .

The board will "consider either the termination of the Superintendent’s contract or his resignation," according to a news release from the district.

Alfredo Parrish, an attorney representing Roberts, announced during a news conference earlier on Tuesday that he would submit a letter of resignation on behalf of Roberts to the school board.

During a meeting to move his leave status from paid to unpaid on Monday, Sept. 29, the board gave Roberts until noon Tuesday to clarify his citizenship status or risk being fired .
