On Tuesday at 7:29 p.m. the National Weather Service released an updated coastal flood advisory valid for Wednesday between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. for Atlantic and Ocean counties.
"Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways," adds the weather service. "A high risk of rip currents is likely to continue through the remainder of the week. However, the surf program ends on September 30. This will be the final day that rip current statements will be issued. Minor coastal flooding may linger beyond the time of high tide Wednesday evening in the back bays in Ocean County."
