Past Arkansas Octobers have delivered record heat, biting cold, and yes... even snowflakes! From temperatures near 100 to freezing cold in the 20s, October in Little Rock has a reputation for a few weather surprises. Back in 2015 temperatures topped out at hot 98°, with other hot days like 97° in 1903 and 95° as recently as 2023. For anyone thinking that fall brings instant sweater weather, these records tell a different story. Even this year temperatures are expected to reach near 90° to start October.

The coldest October low in Little Rock dropped to 27° in 1917, and daytime highs have struggled to get out of the 30s before, like in 1925 when the warmest it got was only 36°. Those kinds of days make Halloween feel more like Christmas.
