SEDONA, AZ (AZFamily) — Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow abruptly announced his resignation on Tuesday afternoon, effective at the end of the day.
“When I came into office, I felt a deep obligation to be proactive and to give voice to the concerns of our residents,” Jablow said. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and I leave this office confident in Sedona’s future.”
The move follows a string of controversy with the Sedona City Council, which recently censured him, and back-and-forth complaints between him and the city’s police chief.
In an exclusive interview with Arizona’s Family, the outgoing mayor says he wanted to resign on his own terms and that recent controversies did play into the decision, but he believes the city is trying to silence him from asking questions.
