DENVER (KDVR) — A three-car crash at the corner of 120th Avenue and Sable Boulevard in Thornton turned deadly Tuesday night, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The Patrol reported that a crash at about 9 p.m. involving three vehicles had closed East 120th Avenue and Sable Boulevard. The crash involved a 2017 GMC Sierra, a 2017 Ford Escape and a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Patrol reported in a release.

The agency said that the GMC had been traveling west on East 120th Avenue when it hit the back of the Ford, and then the GMC collided head-on with the eastbound Jeep.

CSP said the 48-year-old male driver of the GMC was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is in the care of the Adams County Coroner's Office, which will notify his next of kin.
