Police searching for a missing mum who disappeared 20 years ago have started digging scrubland near a river in the midlands.

Malgorzata Wnuczek was 27 when she was last seen on May 31, 2006, and her whereabouts remains unknown.

A Polish national, she was last seen catching a bus from her workplace at Peter Jackson Logistics into Leicester city centre.

Following her disappearance, a 39-year-old man was arrested in Greater Manchester on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

He was later released with no further action.

Malgorzata's last contact with her family, who called her Gosia, was via text message two days before. Ten years later, in 2016, both her loved ones and police made an appeal for information which failed to find her. Vie
