Violent protests against the Pakistani government continued for the third day in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). On Wednesday, 8 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in firing by security forces.
According to media reports, 4 people were killed in Dhirkot in Bagh district, 2 in Muzaffarabad and 2 in Mirpur. A total of 10 civilians have been killed so far during the protests.
These protests are taking place on the appeal of the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC). Protesters are accusing the government of 'ignoring fundamental rights' and failing to control inflation.
A large crowd of people is marching towards Muzaffarabad. They have put forward 38 demands before the government, which include the demand to abolish 12 reserved seats in the PoK Assembly.
