A naked man shot multiple times by Boston Police Officers as they said he wielded a large knife in a Beacon Hill restaurant will undergo a mental health evaluation.
Akash Kushwaha , 26, was arraigned Tuesday before Judge James Stanton in BMC Central on three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (knife), one count of breaking and entering during the daytime to commit a felony, malicious destruction of property over $1,200, larceny from a building and indecent exposure.
Just before 6 a.m. on Sept. 24, officers went to 97 Mount Vernon St., the address for the restaurant 1928 Beacon Hill, for a report of a breaking and entering in progress, Superintendent Paul McLaughlin told reporters at the scene. There, police found a man in a rear alley armed with a large knife.
