Michigan's Upper Peninsula has seen numerous record-breaking temperatures in September, and more expected as the forecast shows above-normal highs during the first week of October.

" Very warm air and dry conditions stay over the area until this weekend," the National Weather Service in Marquette said Wednesday, Oct. 1, on X. "Expect more humid conditions and potentially a few high temperature records broken Friday (Oct. 3) and Saturday (Oct. 4)."

Already this week, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, Ironwood recorded a high of 83 degrees and Chatham saw 82 degrees — both new record temperatures for the day, according to the NWS.

In addition, on Monday, Sept. 29, Marquette had a high of 82 degrees, surpassing the previous record of 77 degrees set for the date in 1983.
