A massive gas explosion has caused part of a block of flats to collapse with emergency services on the scene.

Footage shows cracks along the side of a high-rise building in the Bronx, New York , with the incident reported at 8.30am local time today.

The building is located on Alexander Avenue near East 135th Street in the Mott Haven section of the borough and motorists are being asked to avoid the area. 16:57 Anders Anglesey
