In case you missed it, Donatella Versace stepped down when Prada bought her line, and they replaced her with Dario Vitale of Miu Miu. Given how cockamamie that brand has gotten, this seemed concerning to me, and his first collection isn’t giving me a ton of confidence. I’m not going to be alarmist about it yet — Louis Vuitton, for example, generally does better custom gowns than runway stuff, and Vitale hasn’t even attempted a dress yet (he has big shoes to fill; like her designs or not, Donatella does NOT whiff fit).
