HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - The Eversource Hartford Marathon is just ten days away.

To celebrate, officials unveiled a massive mural along the race path on Wednesday.

The mural is up on the corner of Pearl and Lewis Street. It stretches multiple stories high along the side of a building.

The race director said it was all about remembering and honoring the history of the marathon.

The mural sits at mile eight for runners. Those who run the full marathon will see it once again when they hit mile 26 to close out their race.

Runners, staff, volunteers, and the overall Hartford community are represented throughout the mural and sprinkled with blue and green race colors.

The director said this was one way to keep the energy of race day alive throughout the entire year.
