NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is joining forces with Elephant Butte Fire & Rescue for the annual Fire Prevention Expo.

The annual expo helps raise awareness about fire safety and preparedness for families throughout the state. Now in its third year, the expo is being held October 4th, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Elephant Butte Town Hall. Guests will be able to check out fire safety demonstrations, explore fire trucks, interact with local firefighters, get free fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors.
