The Beaver County District Attorney on Wednesday cleared federal officers who shot and killed an 18-year-old Aliquippa grad late last month, saying Kendric Curtis Jr. fired twice at the officer before the officer returned fire.
DA Nate Bible said the agent, who was with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and in Aliquippa as part of the FBI’s Safe Streets program, identified himself as law enforcement when he encountered Mr. Curtis in the Linmar Terrace housing complex on the evening of Sept. 18.
“The totality of the evidence makes it clear Curtis fired at the officers prior to the ATF agent returning fire,” Mr. Bible said.
