Cold temperatures will sweep into parts of Massachusetts late Wednesday into Thursday morning, bringing a chance of frost.

A frost advisory was issued from 12 a.m. until 8 a.m. on Thursday for the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are expected to drop between 33 and 36 degrees in the region overnight, which could cause frozen dew to form — and potentially harm or kill sensitive outdoor plants, forecasters warn.

In areas like Sheffield and Pittsfield, temperatures are expected to hang around 35 degrees with areas of frost after 4 a.m. on Monday. More frost can be expected at 7 a.m., after the sunrise, but temperatures will rise to 62 during the day under sunny skies.
